lost her mind': Steve Madden says Iggy Azalea's 'temper tantrum'

She lost her mind': Steve Madden says Iggy Azalea's 'temper tantrum' over photo shoot was 'terrible'... but he will still work with her

  • Iggy was furious the shoe brand released images to promote her collaboration without her knowledge
  • Rapper called photos shared on a Tumblr page 'gross' and 'god awful'
  • The site was taken down and Iggy deleted a series of furious tweets
  • The 24-year-old's boss T.I. said she should 'focus on her music'
Steve Madden is taking the high road after Iggy Azalea lashed out at his company for releasing photos she finds 'disgusting' to promote her shoe collaboration, without her approval.
The founder of the brand did however call her very public Twitter outburst 'terrible', and that he was left 'upset' by it.
Speaking on TMZ Live via Skype on Friday, Steve said: 'I want to say that she’s 24 years old, and she’s a big star and she makes mistakes.

'She’s under a lot of pressure, and I think it was terrible what she did but she’s a great artist. It was an outburst, a temper tantrum, and she’s over it. The damage is done a little bit but I still love her.'
When pressed about his reaction to Iggy's rant, Steve went on: 'I was upset when I saw it, but she’s temperamental, she’s in this cauldron – this pressure cooker – you know, T.I.’s been successful for a long time, I’ve been around for a while. And while it could have been damaging, what am I going to do?'
He joked: 'Would I work with her again? Well, we’d probably have to go to couple’s counselling. She’s one of the biggest stars in the world, and when you get somebody in this moment, you open yourself up for a lot of stuff.
'A year ago nobody had heard of her, so it’s just one of those things. And we plan on working with Iggy, and we both sent love letters to each other, so we’ll go forward.'

While it seems the rapper has not sent him a personal apology, Steve explained that she said sorry 'on Instagram', and added: 'She lost her mind and she recovered it quickly.'
Iggy's boss T.I., who signed her in 2012, was also upset by her actions, and told TMZ that instead of going on Twitter rants, the star should be putting her energy into her music.
'I think she should focus on what got her here and that’s her music, her performing, and just continue to present her talents to the world,' he said.
'It’s just like asking Tom Brady if he should be commenting on Deflate-gate. He should worry about the big game on Sunday. Same with Iggy.'
